New ANC identity
In the wake of recent events, I decided to offer the ANC an update to their CI, free of charge! Just a few tweaks here and there...

'Dark' side of the moon
NASA recently released images of the moon taken by their Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO). The gallery has some interesting images showing the side of the moon we never see, and quite conclusive evidence (ha ha let's hope not photoshopped) of the Apollo 11 & 14 moon landings.
Hail to the beautiful moon. Where would we be without you?

The gulf bleeds on
Look at these NASA photos of the gulf. The clear one is from Friday, and now a tropical storm. See the gallery.
And what's up with the media coverage?

Not sure if holding thumbs is gonna help much on this one. Maybe about as much as prayer?

Freedom to express myself?
Maybe in my own domain space (for now...)

At least not via image shack...

The above image is indeed an exercise in blunt propaganda, but more importantly an exercise in Freedom of Expression. Yes, it's kind of a cliché with the Nazi reference, but it was designed to evoke an emotive response (achieved at least one so far), and nothing sends shivers like Hitler. Bare in mind the context: it was created by a pretty liberal minded individual. NOT a conservative republican quack. NOT a racist redneck hick. At very least, a rationalist.
In the wake of the reality of the last year, (not to mention the last decade) with the 'free world' falling steadily into disrepair, I feel I need to exercise my freedom of speech on an open internet while I still can.
There is no doubt in my mind that US President Barack Obama is a liar and a fraud.
There's no doubt in my mind that 9/11 was an inside job to motivate and justify now nearly a decade of ongoing war in the Middle East.
There's barely a doubt in my mind that 'Anthropogenic Global Warming' is paid for, pseudo-scientific propaganda, created to try to manipulate people and governments into accepting 'green' policies which will end up crippling the world economy.
And already my doubts are slipping as to whether the BP oil spill was on some level intentional.
I won't try to convince. The evidence is everywhere. It's simply a matter of objective enquiry.
Resort to that old chestnut 'pffff - conspiracy theories...', but remember: there are more and more rational people turning into 'conspiracy theorists' every day, and I can assure you that none of those people want the day to come when they have to say "I told you so."
Start your own enquiry. And try to keep in mind:
The role of government is a naturally erosive force on any constitution. If you aren't aware of your rights, it's not going to be the government who reminds you.
We have to remind each other...

My website is up.
Been neglecting the blog the last few weeks, but hey, I've been working, not to mention those fucking documentaries(!), and my multi-tasking abilities are severely stunted. I also had a slight drama at the drawing class, bolted at tea, and haven't been back in 2 weeks. I'm no good in the morning. And now it's winter...
The good news is I've updated my portfolio, and finally made that gleeful transition out of the freebie realms of Google to a personal domain space at crudely.co.za. I have 100 free email addresses. I'mnottoosurewhattodowiththemall@crudely.co.za?

PS. I swore I wouldn't go there, but good luck Bafana Bafana for the Fiendish Illicit Fucking Assholes World Cup 2010!
PPS. Since I'm going there, good luck to the people of the USA for your revolution against the Police State your saviour Obama is busy selling you down the river toward. Arrest those thieving bankers!

I've been getting into documentaries lately
Been down with a virus this week. It hit me hard. Almost as hard as the Obama Deception. But this docky brings the long and tragic War on drugs into wide-angle perspective.

The exhibition...

Last weekend we held this exhibition for the drawing class. It was an interesting experience. We didn't sell much. Many were charging too much I think. Thanks to my family and friends I managed to get rid of a few. Below was the corner of the hall I occupied, followed by a few of my favourite pieces from the show.

Lindsay - A2 - Ink.
June - A1 - Ink & bleach.
Margie - A2 - Pencil.
Berenice - A2 - Pastel.
Jonna - A1 - Acrylic. I bought this one above. I cropped it funny.
Claire - A4 - Ink.

The real Almighty
This is a crop of a hi-res image of the sun taken by NASA's new Solar Dynamics Observatory. They're taking videos of the sun at some ridiculous resolution, showing insane detail. You can watch snippets. Maybe one day we can watch the sun live on big screen. Like fake fireplaces, and fish-tanks, only the sun in realtime. Awesome.
Way more awesome than Jesus...

Go figure.
A few crops from this weeks class, nearly finished this A4 Moleskine, then I'll hit the pastels again. Pretty soon I may even blog something other than mediocre figure drawing ;)

Figure drawing & exhibition
The weekly class I attend is having an exhibition at Parkhurst Recreation Centre, one weekend only, opening on Friday 7 May. I'll have a few pastel and charcoal pieces up for sale (cheap!), and a couple of sketch books for the perusal of clean-fingered observers. Hope to see you there...
We had two slender models today - two one-hour drawings. I'm back in the sketchbook until I sort my shit out.

PS. Am very aware of the current blog neglect. I have stuff in the pipelines though. Get ready for an unleashing... Some day.
