Balls

After a month absence
I was late for drawing this morning
Couldn't find my

I finally found it
in a place I had just looked
twice.

I got in. The model was a guy.
I thought:
Damn.

Disappointed, I sat down.
I was in no mood to draw cock
But I couldn't leave. They had seen me.

I slowly
pulled out
my shit.

...

Try not to hesitate.
Fake a smile.

Yeah... I guess
we can't all be

Peaceful sleep

Miu, you lazy monster.

Cold portraits

Went back to class and finished the A4 Moleskine last week on a few portraits. It was quite quiet. The housewives seem to have moulded themselves to their electric blankets. The hands of old ladies fused to metal bannisters and old parking meters.

May you thaw before you draw.

Figure drawing & exhibition

The weekly class I attend is having an exhibition at Parkhurst Recreation Centre, one weekend only, opening on Friday 7 May. I'll have a few pastel and charcoal pieces up for sale (cheap!), and a couple of sketch books for the perusal of clean-fingered observers. Hope to see you there...

We had two slender models today - two one-hour drawings. I'm back in the sketchbook until I sort my shit out.

PS. Am very aware of the current blog neglect. I have stuff in the pipelines though. Get ready for an unleashing... Some day.

Yesterday's figures

I have not been drawing enough lately. Broke out the pastels yesterday and disappointed myself a bit. Grrr. It's been a slog of a week.

Better jack my shit up for the exhibition...

Ignoring Easter

Meant to post these up last week... 30 min each in A4 'skine. Levelled, hue and saturated.

Blog is feeling my neglect :( It'll pick up... just another wave.

Still life with comfort zone

A few reasons why I haven't been drawing (or socialising, or blogging, or speaking) enough lately.
What peace can be found
between each click
of a metronome.

Figures

Thursday morning's figure drawing session... H and 4B in A4 Moleskine... Not the best session. Omitted a few. I get a bit thrown off by two people. Especially when they're so enthusiastic as this pair. I think they practice at home.

Figure drawing

Back to figure drawing this morning. Been lazy with the media. Still just the H and 4B in an A4 moleskine...
